Assignment 2 - Explanation

The target audience aimed for my magazine article are female teens around the ages of 15 to 20.

The interview appeals to its demographics as the questions asked are mainly about how she got interested in music and who inspires her, female teenagers who are leaning in the same direction could be interested in Rocky Glow’s journey. The language used is quite casual, not too formal this makes the article seem more, friendly for young female teens. There aren’t any bad words or inappropriate language used.

The album cover appeals to its audience as I used suitable images that portray the artist and relate to the album cover in some way. I tried to base the magazine article design around pop art by using a fun bright color. I used a clear and bold font that would really stand out. I tried to stick with one color so that my magazine wouldn’t look to childish and would be more suitable for teens.

I stuck with the main conventions, for magazine covers as the questions and answers have been laid out in columns and I tried to limit the amount of colors. I have also added a title and a small intro paragraph.

There is synergy between my album cover and magazine article as the pictures are very similar and the limit of colors is similar

Music interview questions

Congratulations Rocky on releasing your second album first of all, tell us a little about your album like, what are the songs about?

Thank you so much, my album is called bold, the songs in my album are about my greatest fears and how I overcame them with the help of music.

What song do you think your fans will enjoy the most from your album?

Personally my favourite song is Bold as it was the first song I wrote in the album and I feel like that song really represents me, therefore I hope my fans see me for who I am whilst listening to that song.

Which artists really inspire you at the moment?

Well I’ve always liked Adele her music inspires me the most, however at the moment I really like Sia her songs always puts me in a good mood there is also lot of meaning and strong messages in her music.

So as we all know you’re a pop artist but if you had to write music for another genre, which genre would it be, and why?

Well I really love pop music but if I had to write songs for another genre it’d probably be country, just because it’s my second favourite genre and is quite catchy as well.

What’s the best part of writing music, and what’s the worst?

The best part is the fact that I get to express myself through music and I hope I inspire my fans through music as well. I’m not really sure if there is a worst part, probably that sometimes it gets a little overwhelming, and I fear that my fans aren’t going to like the music I produce, but I try not to think of that too much.

So what do you do when your not singing?

Well I love acting I am currently in a movie, I also love playing sports like tennis and I really enjoy ice skating, when I’m bored I’ll read a book from time to time, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan.

Describe yourself in one word?

Probably creative, just because I love being different and creating new styles and really expressing myself the best I can.

So your fans all know you as Rocky Glow how did you get it and , what’s your real name

Yes, Rocky Glow is my stage name,  Rocky has always been my nickname as it’s just a shorter and snappier version of my real name.

How would you describe your fashion sense?

Quite simple however, edgy.
